Frequently Asked Questions

When does someone win?

A player wins when the opponent has fewer than three pieces after placement, or when the opponent has no legal move. The game displays the winner and the reason above the board.

When can I fly?

After all nine pieces have been placed, a player with exactly three pieces left may move one piece to any open point.

Can I capture a piece inside a mill?

Only if every opposing piece is inside a mill. If the opponent has any pieces outside mills, those are the legal capture targets.

What do the AI levels change?

Easy plays loosely, Medium prioritizes mills and blocks, and Hard weighs blocking, mobility, future mill pressure, and stronger capture opportunities more aggressively.

Why did the game not let me capture a piece?

The most common reason is capture protection. If the opponent has any pieces outside mills, pieces inside mills are not legal capture targets. The board highlights the pieces you may take.

Can I form the same mill twice?

Yes, but you need to reopen it first. Move one piece out of the mill, then later move back into the line to close the mill again.

Why do some points have numbers?

Point numbers make captures and move history easier to discuss. They are especially useful when reporting a bug or learning a pattern.

What is the difference between moving and flying?

Moving requires an adjacent connected point. Flying allows a piece to jump to any empty point, but only after placement is complete and only when that player has exactly three pieces left.

Can two people play on the same device?

Yes. Choose 2P at the top of the board. Ivory and Slate then alternate turns locally.
